Effective date
This Privacy Policy is effective as of November 3, 2026.
1. Who we are
Oakmere Consulting (“Oakmere”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides business consulting services through oakmere-consulting.com (the “Website”). We also use an integration with Intuit QuickBooks Online (the “QuickBooks Integration”) to create and send invoices for the consulting packages our clients request. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us: when you request a consulting package, fill in a form or contact us, we collect details such as your name, email address, phone number, company name, billing address, the package you selected and any message you send us.
Information from QuickBooks Online: when the QuickBooks Integration is authorised, we access only the data needed to invoice you, such as company profile details, customer records (name, email, billing address), invoices, products and services, and payment status.
Information collected automatically: when you visit the Website we may collect your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and similar usage data through cookies and similar technologies.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- process package requests and create, send and track invoices
- deliver and manage the consulting services you buy
- communicate with you about your order, invoice or enquiry
- operate, secure and improve the Website
- meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. QuickBooks Online data
The QuickBooks Integration connects to QuickBooks Online through Intuit’s secure OAuth 2.0 authorisation, and only after an authorised user grants access. We use QuickBooks data only to create and manage invoices and keep customer and payment records in sync. Access tokens are stored encrypted, are never shared, and are used only for these purposes.
Access can be disconnected at any time from your QuickBooks Online account (Apps settings) or by emailing info@oakmere-consulting.com. When the connection is removed, we stop accessing QuickBooks data and delete the stored access tokens. We keep data already pulled from QuickBooks only as long as we need it for accounting and legal purposes.
5. How we share information
We share information only with:
- service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, email delivery, and Intuit QuickBooks for invoicing and accounting
- professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where needed
- authorities, when required by law or to protect our rights
- a successor business, if Oakmere Consulting is merged or sold
These providers may use your information only to provide services to us.
6. Cookies
The Website uses cookies that are needed for it to work (for example, to keep items in your cart) and may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. That includes the period required by tax, accounting and other legal rules, which is usually up to seven years for invoice and payment records.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted storage of access tokens and access limited to authorised staff. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your data.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict some processing. To make a request, email info@oakmere-consulting.com. We will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
10. Children
Our services are for businesses and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Third-party websites
The Website may link to other websites, and the QuickBooks Integration relies on Intuit services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, including the Intuit Privacy Statement.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
